Bold, Complex and Delicious – Califia Farms Unveils pour over Magazine
The New Magazine Celebrates the Power of Plants by Diving into the Intricacies, Connections and Stories Surrounding Coffee
LOS ANGELES, Jan 22, 2018 – Califia FarmsÒ today announced the premiere issue of pour over, a lifestyle magazine that explores the complex world of coffee and the limitless power of plants. The print magazine furthers the Califia Farm mission – to nourish and inspire the world with the wisdom of a plant-based lifestyle – by highlighting companies and individuals that are developing a more sustainable and humanitarian food system.
“In the pages of pour over, readers will discover stories that inspire each of us to create a more positive model on our food system by valuing the three tenets of personal health, farmer livelihood and environmental sustainability,” said Greg Steltenpohl, CEO, Califia Farms. “The magazine also celebrates the culture of coffee and a plant-based lifestyle through in-depth stories and fun features – such as the contentious debate on black vs white coffee.”
Each edition of pour over will include a collection of articles from contributors who offer unique insights into the industry. The debut issue will cover topics such as:
- How blockchain, the same technology behind cryptocurrency, could benefit farmers and transform the coffee supply chain
- The importance of diversity and inclusion in the industry
- The alchemy of turning coffee waste into new materials for activewear
- The longstanding debate about how to take your coffee: black vs. white
- A photographic journey of crop to cup: how an almond goes from farm to Barista Blend at your local coffee shop
The inaugural issue will also include a collection of stickers designed for the coffee aficionado, and a pull-out map of the ten most memorable film scenes set in Hollywood diners and coffee houses. This “Coffee Cameo” guide will quickly become a glove compartment staple, taking tourists, locals and even native Angelenos to these famous coffee spots.
“Through pour over, we aim to inspire readers and create a deeper connection between Califia Farms and our consumers via engaging stories,” said Steltenpohl. “It is an opportunity to showcase the intricate aspects of a business and real-life people and interactions.”
Califia Farms plans to publish printed editions of the magazine bi-annually and will distribute copies of pour over for free at multiple venues, such as coffee houses, throughout the year.
